Our Cemetery

The Naperville Cemetery located in downtown Naperville in DuPage County dates back to 1842. Captain Joe Naper, the founder of Naperville, as well as many other notable Naperville families are buried here. Many historians visit the cemetery and Naper Settlement semi-annually conducts tours highlighting the historical sites located within the cemetery. This is a resting place for Naperville history.

The not-for-profit Naperville Cemetery was incorporated on December 23, 1875 with the State of Illinois and was named The Naperville Cemetery Association. The Association is governed by a volunteer board of directors.

About Us

The 40 acre cemetery is extremely beautiful, serene and well maintained. It serves all ages, religions, beliefs, races and national creeds. We strive to accommodate any special requests that may be a part of a families’ belief or culture during the burial process. The cemetery is open from sunrise to sunset 365 days a year.

Img We are very proud to honor the many veterans buried here dating back to the Revolutionary War. In 2012, the cemetery built a memorial plaza to honor all veterans. Commemorative brick pavers may be purchased and placed in their honor around the black granite monolith representing each branch of the service. Many veterans are choosing to be buried around the memorial. Veterans

Img We offer in-ground burial for traditional funerals and cremations as well as an above-ground mausoleum and columbariums. We also have a Jewish Section with Congregation Beth Shalom in Naperville and a Babyland. Whether you are in an at-need situation or planning ahead, our staff is always available to discuss with you the many options available for final disposition. Services

Img When a grave is purchased, a portion of the purchase price goes into a perpetual care fund and the interest drawn off of that account is used to pay for the grounds/tree maintenance. The cemetery is audited annually by the State of Illinois to confirm compliance with the State of Illinois Care Act and the trust fund account is managed by a local financial institution.
